For the Filipino/a/x Navigating Parenthood and Childhood Trauma

Are you feeling overwhelmed or anxious as you juggle parenthood, relationship issues, household and work responsibilities, and your own healing journey? Life transitions—like cohabitation, marriage, and parenthood—can trigger deep emotions and increase stress, anxiety, or depression. Whether you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or a seasoned parent, finding balance and stability can be a real challenge.

I help Filipino/a/x adults who are navigating parenthood and healing from childhood trauma find balance, self-compassion, and healthier relationships—often within just a few months of focused, collaborative therapy.

You don’t have to struggle alone. Many of us face the parallel process of worrying about the future while navigating old wounds from the past. Add in cultural and social expectations—tara, mag party tayo!—and life can feel even more complicated. Your identity is evolving, and it’s okay if it feels hard to keep up.

I don’t have all the answers, but I can offer a warm, safe, and empathic space for you to explore these challenges and feel empowered. Together, we’ll uncover solutions, find healing, and work toward the best version of you today. We’ll embrace your inner wounded child and honor her experiences to strengthen your adult self.

My Story

My name is Zyril Roxas Green, LMFT. I am a 2nd-generation Filipina, born and raised in Southern California and currently living in Payómkawichum (Luiseño) territory. My parents and siblings immigrated to California in the 1980s/1990s, and I was the first in my family born in the United States. Raised in a large, close-knit family, I discovered my passion for mental health at 13 through a peer mentorship and conflict resolution group in middle school.

I have over 10 years of experience working with children and families, beginning as a behavior therapist for children with developmental delays. Most of my clinical experience is in community mental health, serving children, adults, and families both in-person and via telehealth. I have supported military families as a home visitor aboard Camp Pendleton, provided outpatient treatment in Riverside County, and worked in private practice with California residents.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling. My training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and treatment for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I work with you to identify strengths and values, address low self-esteem, communication difficulties, self-acceptance, unhealthy coping, and relationship challenges.

I am passionate about supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQIA+, and military communities. I work with adults (18+) facing anxiety, depression, relationship and parenting issues, perinatal and postpartum concerns, and a history of childhood trauma.

Ready to begin your healing journey? I’m here to support you every step of the way.
