This is why there will be a therapist who will help you position your eyes in ways that help you to spot the sources of your negative feelings. With the help of a pointer, the therapist will guide your eyes to find the “brain spot”.

For example,  if you’re feeling a lot of anxiety around a certain event such as driving or family gatherings, the therapist will help you find the “brain spot” for that anxiety. Once the brain spot is identified, you and the therapist will help you to identify the thoughts and emotions that are causing this anxiety. Once you’ve identified these, you can work on processing them and resolving the issue.

Brainspotting is beneficial to help you process trauma and other emotions that you may have been struggling to deal with on your own. This way you will have the support you need to process these emotions and start working through them so you can live the life you want.
