For the Creative Filipinx young adults to reconnect with their genuine self during life transitions.

Imagine being able to scribble your frustrations, release your grief through painting or create a collage to visualize your dreams. Art therapy is for everyone because it focuses on the process, rather than the product. It challenges perfectionism, allows us to play and reconnect with our inner child. It is empowering because sometimes words may not be enough to express your emotional experience.

I support Filipino/a/x young adults reclaim their authenticity through art-making, inner child healing, and breaking intergenerational curses. My inviting and warm nature will help create a space where you will feel heard and seen. Together, we will collaborate to explore relationships, behavioral patterns, and barriers that may be getting in the way of where you would like to be.

I am here to walk beside you through your own self-exploration, processing and healing. In other words, you are the expert in your care and I am here to provide a gentle and motivating space. You can expect humor, patience, flexibility (art is optional) and reflection.

My Story

Hi, my name is Lady, born and raised in the land of unceded Tongva territory, presently Historic Filipinotown Los Angeles. I am a proud daughter of immigrant parents (Tagalog and Visayan ancestry) and the “bunso” or youngest in my family.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and earned my Master’s Degree in Art Therapy in the School of Visual Arts in New York. Throughout my 11 years of clinical experience from coast to coast, I have worked in a variety of settings like prison, preventive care, LGBTQIA+, unhoused youth, and children’s hospital. My lived experience and commitment to anti-oppression and liberation informs my practice. I am an advocate for social justice and equal representation.

After I started working within the Filipinx community, I kept hearing similar narratives; This balance of making our elders proud while still trying to be true to ourselves is real. The pressure of taking care of everyone, wearing so many hats, and placing your needs aside. Or feeling like what you are doing is not enough? I feel you because I have been there. It’s time to finally give back to yourself.

Audre Lorde beautifully said, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

When I am not in sessions, I am the mom of a sweet and sassy toddler and dog mom of 2. Anything related to the arts fills my soul; drawing and painting, embroidery, nature walks, dancing to anything 90s and some bad bunny, attending live concerts and thrift shopping (sis loves a good deal). I also enjoy checking out local eats, boba and ice cream spots (lactaid pills are always ready to go).

Looking forward to hearing your narrative and creating together.

Ingat, Lady
